Explore Aswan and the Nile beauty

Aswan was the south gate of Egypt which was supplying the country with the African goods like animals skins, incense, and the ivory. this region was anciently known as “Ta Siti” which means the land of arches, as people there were very clever in using the arches. Also because of the granite stone Aswan was a very important city as it has the main quarries that was the main source of granite to make Obelisks, Statues, and parts of temples.

The Nile in this area is so different as it has so many little islands, which makes that part of the Nile very beautiful and very natural that made the authorities make it a protected area.

Anba Hatre married at the age of eighteen. Tradition says that just after the wedding, he encountered a funeral procession which inspired him to preserve his chastity and later become a disciple of Saint Baiman. After eight years of ascetic practices under the supervision of his teacher, he retired to the desert and applied himself to the study of the life of Saint Antony. He died during the time of Theodosius I.
